LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2018 AVCA Division III All-America teams on Tuesday, and Washington and Lee junior outside hitter Allison Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) earned honorable mention recognition for the first time in her career.
Webb is the 10th player in program history to garner All-America accolades, and this is the sixth straight season a W&L player has been honored.
A First Team All-ODAC and First Team AVCA All-South Region honoree earlier this season, Webb tied for eighth in the conference in kills (307), was sixth in points (371.5), fourth in blocks (78) and eighth in hitting percentage (.271). She was the only player in the league this season with at least 700 attack attempts and a hitting percentage greater than .260.
Webb recorded double-digit kills in 15 matches this year, including a career-high 23 on 39 attempts (.564 hitting percentage) in a 3-2 win at Roanoke on October 1. She also had at least four blocks in eight contests this season.
The Generals finished the 2018 campaign 21-13 overall, and claimed the 16th ODAC Championship in program history. The Blue and White fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to fourth-ranked Colorado College, 3-2, on Friday, November 9.
