Kinzer Paces W&L Volleyball to 3-1 Win Over Gallaudet

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — Led by junior setter Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside), the Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Gallaudet on Friday, 3-1, in a neutral-site contest at Bridgewater.

Kinzer was all over the court for the Generals (8-1) in the 20-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22 victory. She totaled eight kills, 31 assists, three service aces, six digs and two total blocks. Junior outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) led the team with 11 kills, while first-year outside hitter Mary Silliman (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) added eight.

Senior outside hitter Kali Frowick led the Bison (1-5) with 13 kills and added 10 digs. Junior outside hitter Danielle Morris totaled five kills and 10 digs.

W&L senior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) notched 14 digs to lead all players, while junior outside hitter Kasey Cannon (North Wales, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) tallied six kills and eight digs. 

The Blue and White have now won seven straight matches since losing to nationally-ranked Christopher Newport on August 29. The Generals play two more neutral-site matches on Saturday in Bridgewater. W&L plays N.C. Wesleyan at 10:00 am and Averett at 4:00 pm.
