W&L Volleyball Takes Down WildCats, 3-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Behind the trio of senior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's), senior outside hitter Allison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Troy) and first-year middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline), the Washington and Lee volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep at Randolph on Tuesday.

Each of the three players notched at least 10 kills in the 25-17, 25-19, 25-20 victory for the Generals (21-6, 9-1 ODAC). Boles led the team with 15 kills on 31 attempts and added six digs.

Rouse recorded double-digit kills for the second consecutive match with 11 against the WildCats (10-9, 2-7 ODAC), and Shand totaled 10 kills on just 13 attempts. As a team, the Blue and White hit .330 with 44 kills and 13 errors on 94 total attempts.

Senior setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) stuffed the stat sheet with 34 assists, seven digs, four kills and five total blocks. Junior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) led the team with eight digs and three service aces.

Junior outside hitter Jordan Templin led Randolph with 10 kills and a match-high 13 digs. Junior setter Kerry McMichael tallied 26 assists and five digs.

The Generals play at Mary Washington on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
