LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team is in fourth place out of 10 teams after day one of the Outdoor ODAC Championship at Randolph on Friday.
Lynchburg leads the championship after day one with 35 points, Roanoke is in second (34 points), Bridgewater is third (14 points) and the Generals have 12 points.
The meet's schedule was changed dramatically due to the severe weather on Friday, and only three events were completed on day one.
Highlights From the Meet
- The Blue and White had two point scorers in the 10,000m. Senior Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) finished fourth in 38:25.04, and sophomore Katie Harris (Ashburn, Va./Rock Ridge) was eighth with a time of 40:23.87.
- In the pole vault, first-year Murfee Jones (Lookout Mountain, Ga./Girls Preparatory School) claimed fifth at 3.11m (10'2.50"), and junior Alexa Castellana (Boonton, N.J./Mountain Lakes) was seventh in the high jump at 1.52m (4'11.75"). Both the pole vault and the high jump took place indoors on Friday at the Lynchburg Wake Field House.
