Stephenson Paces Generals at WildCat Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. — First-year Sara Stephenson (Weston, Mass./The Rivers School) registered a program Top 5 time in the 3,000m steeplechase to lead the Washington and Lee women's track and field team at the WildCat Invitational on Saturday hosted by Randolph.

Highlights From the Meet

  • Stephenson won the race with a time of 12:00.47 to record the fifth-fastest time in program history in her first time competing in the event.
  • Junior Katie Bearup (Arvada, Colo.) placed second in the 1,500m with a career-best time of 4:48.38, while first-year Mallory Keeley (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge Country) took second in the 5,000m in 20:03.64.
  • Junior Nikki Doherty (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) claimed third in the 100m hurdles (15.84).
  • Senior Maggie Seybold (Cockeysville, Md./McDonogh School) competed at the Bucknell Bison Open on Saturday, finishing the 1,500m with a time of 4:41.52 against Division I, II and III competition.
