McMichael Leads W&L Women's Track & Field on Day One of ODAC's

BRIDGEWATER, Va.  — Junior Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) finished second in the 10,000m to lead the Washington and Lee women's track and field team on day one of the Outdoor ODAC Championship on Friday at Bridgewater.

Lynchburg sits in first place out of eight teams with 64 points. Bridgewater is second with 60 points, Roanoke is third (43.5 points) and the Generals are fifth (19 points).  

Highlights From the Meet

  • McMichael crossed the finish line in 38:51.28 to earn her second-place finish. First-year Katie Harris (Ashburn, Va./Rock Ridge) took sixth (40:44.72) in the event, while sophomore Ellie Bradach (Roswell, Ga./Wesleyan) was seventh in 40:45.56.
  • The Generals had two runners score in the 3,000m steeplechase. First-year Maddie Hoaglund (Hoover, Ala./Westminster School at Oak Mountain) was sixth (12:31.16), and junior Bailey Sanders (Powell, Wyo./Powell) claimed seventh (13:02.88).
  • First-year Julie Lowe (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook) placed eighth in the long jump at 4.59m (15'0.75").
