LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team had four Top 5 finishes on day one of the W&L Carnival on Friday to open the outdoor portion of its schedule.
Highlights From the Meet
- Sophomore Julia Moody (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) and junior Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) each registered a second-place finish to pace the Generals. Moody took second in the 1,500m with a new career-best time of 4:56.82. McMichael was the runner-up in the 5,000m in 18:22.79.
- First-year Anna Nelson (Arvada, Colo./Standley Lake) was one spot behind Moody in the 1,500m, crossing the finish line in 4:57.09.
- The 4x400m relay took third with a time of 4:14.54. The quartet consisted of senior Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park), first-years Kathryn Fagan (Metairie, La./Metairie Park Country Day) and Claire Smith (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall School) and senior Lily Arnold (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School).
