Arnold Wins 800m at Roanoke Tune Up to Pace Generals

SALEM, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team recorded six Top 3 finishes at the Roanoke Tune Up on Friday.

Highlights From the Meet

  • Senior Lily Arnold (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) won the 800m with a time of 2:23.14, while first-year Anna Nelson (Arvada, Colo./Standley Lake) took third in the race in 2:24.98.
  • Sophomore Alexa Castellana (Boonton, N.J./Mountain Lakes) finished second in the high jump and third in the triple jump. She tied a personal best in the high jump at 1.57m (5'1.75") and registered a leap of 10.22m (30'6.50") in the triple jump.
  • In the 3,000m first-year Didi Pace (Centreville, Va./Westfield) crossed the finish line third with a time of 11:00.24.
  • The 4x400m relay placed third with a time 4:19.47. The quartet consisted of senior Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park), first-years Annie Cunningham (Clifton, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy) and Kathryn Fagan (Metairie, La./Metairie Park Country Day) and Arnold.
