WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — First-years Annie Cunningham (Clifton, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy) and Didi Pace (Centreville, Va./Westfield) registered career-best times to the lead the Washington and Lee women's track and field team at the Camel City Invite at the JDL FastTrack on Friday.
Highlights From the Meet
- Cunningham recorded a new career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:22.76, taking 22nd overall (Top D3 finisher). Her time is just a split second away from being a W&L Top 5 time. The fifth-best time in program history is 2:22.38 held by senior Lily Arnold (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School).
- Pace took 19th overall in the mile with a personal-best time of 5:24.94.
- Junior Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) finished 10th in the 5,000m with a time of 19:01.68.
- The Blue and White had two runners in the 3,000m. Sophomore Julia Moody (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) was 28th (10:52.51) and sophomore Katie Bearup (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) claimed 30th (10:56.75).
The Generals next compete at the VMI Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
