Generals pick up first win of the season after 9-0 sweep of Randolph

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 18 Washington and Lee women's tennis team earned its first win of the season on Monday afternoon, a 9-0 sweep of ODAC rival Randolph.

The Generals did not drop a single set on their way to improving to 1-2 overall this season and 1-0 in ODAC play. Juniors Gabby Moore (Davidson, N.C./William Amous Hough) and Madison Hutchins (Atlanta, Ga./The Westminster School) highlighted the day with a straight sets wins in No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively, defeating their opponents, 6-0, 6-0.

W&L will return to action on March 9 for its first home matches of the season. The Generals will face Shenandoah at 11:00 am, before hosting Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 pm.
