W&L Women's Swimming claims Scholar All-America laurels

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its 2019 Division III Women's Scholar All-America Teams on Tuesday, and Washington and Lee was among 185 schools to be recognized.

The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Generals posted a 3.59 grade-point average during the 2018-19 academic year and ranked tied for 28th in the nation with six other schools, up 0.20 points from last year's average. The Macalester women claimed the highest team GPA in Division III with a mark of 3.79.

The Generals won their 12th consecutive ODAC championship in 2019, 29th overall, and posted a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, the second-highest finish in program history (7th, 2017).
