FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its athletes of the week for the week ending November 11, and Washington and Lee first-year Caroline Baber (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) was selected as the Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Baber led the way for the Generals in their 149-113 upset win over No. 11 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday with three individual wins and a relay win. She claimed victories in the 50 (24.82) and 100 freestyle (54.41) events, as well as the 200 individual medley (2:10.09). Baber also helped the 200 medley relay (1:49.56) to a win to open the meet. Her marks of 54.41 and 2:10.09 in the 100 free and 200 individual medley, respectively, were season bests.
The 14th-ranked Generals improved to 5-0 in dual meets with the win, in addition to their first-place finish at the ODAC Relays on October 13. W&L will return to action on Friday night at 6:30 pm for the first day of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
