DANVILLE, Va. – The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) released its 2018 College Division All-State Women's Soccer teams on Wednesday, and Washington and Lee senior midfielder Megan Engeland (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) earned a spot on the first team.
Engeland concluded her career in the Blue and White with 10 goals and seven assists for a 27-point senior campaign. Her 10 goals ranked fifth in the ODAC and her seven assists were good for fourth in the conference as she led the Generals in both categories. Engeland tallied at least one point in all but two games for W&L, with nine multi-point efforts. She scored a season-high six points in W&L's 4-2 win at Shenandoah on October 5, tallying her second career hat trick.
This is Engeland's third career appearance on an All-State team, each coming over the last three seasons, after she earned first team laurels as a sophomore and second team honors as a junior.
The Generals concluded their season with a 9-5-2 overall record, 6-3-1 in the ODAC, and made it to the ODAC Semifinals before falling to then 20th-ranked Lynchburg, 2-1, in double overtime.
