KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released its 2018 All-Region teams on Monday, and Washington and Lee senior midfielder Megan Engeland (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was named to the All-South Atlantic Second Team.
Engeland, now a two-time All-Region selection after earning first team recognition as a sophomore, posted 10 goals and seven assists for a team-high 27 points this season. Her 10 goals marked her third straight season with double-digit goals, as she ranked fifth in the ODAC in goals and tied for fourth in assists.
A two-time All-ODAC First Team performer, Engeland's season was highlighted by a hat trick in a 4-2 win at Shenandoah on October 5, followed by her first career multi-assist game in a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite on October 27. Engeland concluded her career with 37 goals, tied for sixth most in program history, and 84 points, good for eighth most.
The Generals posted a 9-5-2 overall record in 2018, with a 6-3-1 mark in the ODAC, and fell to No. 24 and third-seeded Lynchburg in the ODAC quarterfinals, 2-1, in double-overtime.
