Two Generals Earn NSCAA Academic Honors

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2014 Women's College Division Scholar All-East Region honorees on Wednesday and Washington and Lee had two players recognized.

Junior goalkeeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) was recognized on the third team and senior midfielder Katie Rossi (Wyoming, Del. / Caesar Rodney) was named to the honorable mention squad.

Healy, an ODAC All-Academic and W&L Scholar-Athlete, is a psychology major. She started 17 games in goal for the Generals this season and posted 11 shutouts. Healy recorded 40 saves with six goals-allowed for a 0.35 goals-against average. She ranked third in the conference in goals-against and second in goals-against average. Healy also claimed an .870 save percentage, which ranked second in the ODAC. Earlier this season, she received First Team All-ODAC laurels.

An ODAC All-Academic honoree and W&L Scholar Athlete, Rossi will graduate in the spring with a degree in biology. She saw action in 17 contests this season, starting in every game which she played. Rossi registered two goals and five assists for nine points. She finished her career with 14 goals and 22 assists for 50 points. Rossi also earned First Team All-ODAC recognition earlier this season.

W&L ended the 2014 campaign with a 15-2-1 overall record and an 11-1 conference mark after falling to Lynchburg, 1-0, in the ODAC Tournament Championship match.
