LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference has announced that Washington and Lee first-year 157-pounder Ryan Luth (Milford, Conn. / Joseph A. Foran) has been named the conference Wrestler of the Week for the week ending November 18.

Luth received the honor after a week in which he posted a 5-0 overall record with three pins and two wins by technical fall.

In a 36-9 win over Southern Virginia on Friday, Luth won his match at 157 pounds with a pin of SVU's Easton Whitaker in just 34 seconds.

Luth then helped the Generals to a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Marine Corps Star City Tournament on Sunday by claiming the title in the 157-pound bracket.  He pinned Michael Duzzny of Otterbein (3:46) in his opening match, then had a 15-0 tech fall over Clay Fritz of West Virginia Tech.  In the semifinals, he recorded a 16-0 tech fall over Kaleb Fontenot of Huntingdon, and then he recorded a pin in just 1:03 over Kyle Bythell of Elizabethtown in the title match.

For the year, Luth has notched a 9-1 overall record with three pins, two major decisions and four tech falls.

Washington and Lee (2-0) will return to action on Saturday, December 1, when it travels to Ada, Ohio to take part in the Ohio Northern Invitational.  Action begins at 9:00 am.
