W&L Wrestling Breezes to a 52-0 Win Over Southern Virginia

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team improved to 2-3 on the season with a 52-0 win over Southern Virginia on Wednesday evening at Doremus Gymnasium.

The Generals won two matches by forfeit, claimed three wins via injury default, had two technical falls and two pins en route to the team victory.

First-year Zach Bylykbashi (Burlington, Conn. / Southington) got things started with an 18-3 tech fall over Jayson Cody at 133 pounds and sophomores Michael Sullivan (Laurel, Md. / Reservoir) and Matt Kaminer (Hewlett, N.Y. / George W. Hewlett) closed things out with pins in the final two weight classes.

Sullivan downed Logan Dollins in 4:11 at 197 pounds and Kaminer bested Ruben Mendez at 285 pounds, pinning him in 5:44.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday when it takes part in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.  Action begins at 9:00 am.
