FERRUM, Va. — The second-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team registered the 18th shutout in program history on Saturday with a 24-0 victory at Ferrum.

The Generals (9-2, 3-0 ODAC) had seven players tally a goal, headlined by first-year midfielder Maggie Frankel's (Oyster Bay, N.Y./Oyster Bay) career-best seven goals. First-year attacker Janie Stillwell (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) added five goals and four assists for a game-high nine points.

W&L built a 10-0 advantage in the contest's first 11 minutes. The offense continued humming the rest of the first half, as the Blue and White entered intermission with a 17-0 lead.

During the opening stanza, Frankel record four of her seven goals, and Stillwell notched four goals and two assists. Senior attacker Haley Tucker (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's) had two goals in the first two minutes of the game, and the second marked the 100th tally of her career.

The Generals remained in control of the game over the Panthers (3-6, 0-3 ODAC) in the second half, adding seven more goals to their lead in the final 30 minutes to come away with the conference victory.

W&L held a 39-2 advantage in shots, had 19 draw controls compared to seven for Ferrum and totaled just seven turnovers, while the Panthers totaled 18.

Frankel needed just nine shots to notch her seven goals. She also had a game-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Stillwell added one ground ball and one caused turnover to her points total.

Sophomore midfielder Kit McNiff (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and sophomore attacker Alex Meyer (Pelham, N.Y./Hackley School) each registered three goals and one assist. First-year attacker Liv Truesdell (New York, N.Y./Convent of the Sacred Heart) had two goals and one assist, as did first-year midfielder McKenna Edmondson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield). The two goals were the first collegiate tallies for Edmondson.

Tucker finished the game with two goals, and senior attacker Collette Murray (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) and sophomore attacker Landon Shelley (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) each chipped in two assists. Senior attacker Maddy Graves (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich), senior midfielder Cordelia Peters (Larkspur, Calif./Hotchkiss), sophomore midfielder Claire Fulton (Hagerstown, Md./Saint James School) and first-year midfielder Izzy Shaffrey (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) added one assist apiece.

For the second straight contest, the Generals used all four of their goalkeepers. Junior Elliot Gilbert (Bedford, N.Y./Deerfield Academy) played the opening 12:10 and first-year Sam Sunar (Montville, N.J./Mountain Lakes) saw the final 17:50 of the half. Senior Ellie Aburn (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) played the first 14:58 of the second, making the team's lone save. First-year Nyla Gavia (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) was in cage for the last 15:02 of the game.

First-year goalkeeper Shaianne Ermini played the entire game for the Panthers, making six saves.

The Generals return to action on Wednesday when they host Randolph-Macon at 4:00 pm.
