LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee riding team finished tied for sixth in the Randolph IHSA Invitational co-hosted by W&L on Saturday.
Randolph claimed the victory followed by Hollins. Six top-three finishes, including three wins, helped the Generals to tie for sixth.
The Generals' efforts were highlighted by junior Charlotte Radcliffe (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) and first-year Sam Johnson (Skillman, N.J./Stuart Country Day). Radcliffe placed first in the intermediate flat, while Johnson took over the lead in the Cacchione Regional High Point standings with first- and second-place showings in the open over fences and open flat, respectively. Johnson also was named reserve champion high point rider following a three-way ride-off.
