W&L Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at W&L Carnival

LEXINGTON, Va.  — The Washington and Lee men's track and field team had seven Top 7 finishes on day one of the W&L Carnival on Friday at Wilson Field.

Highlights From the Meet

  • First-year Drew Woodfolk (Kingwood, Texas/St. John's School) claimed second in the 1,500m with a time of 4:06.88. Sophomore Daniel Cope (Dallas, Texas/St. Mark's School) was sixth in the event in 4:10.22.
  • Junior Jay Roberts (Whitwell, Tenn./McCallie) registered a career-best toss in the hammer throw in finishing seventh at 39.23m (128'8.00"). He also was sixth in the discus at 38.79m (127'3.00").
  • The 4x400m relay took sixth with a time of 3:33.46. The foursome consisted of sophomore Spencer Katterhagen (The Woodlands, Texas/John Cooper School), senior Albert Del Cristo (Clarksburg, N.J./Notre Dame) and sophomores Danner Butler (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright) and Miles Oliver (Chevy Chase, Md./Georgetown Prep).
