NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its indoor track and field regional award winners on Wednesday, and Washington and Lee Norris T. Aldridge Men's Track and Field Head Coach Brandon Uhl was named the South/Southeast Region Men's Coach of the Year.
In his eighth year, Uhl led the Generals to their third straight Indoor ODAC Championship on February 24 at the Cregger Center in Salem, Va. At the meet, the Blue and White scored in every event, had 12 athletes total 16 All-ODAC citations and won five events. Uhl was honored as the ODAC Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the championship.
W&L finished the season ranked third in the South/Southeast Region, and Uhl had seven athletes earn a total of nine USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region laurels this year. This marks the first time Uhl has received a region coach of the year accolade.
The Generals open the outdoor season on March 15-16 by hosting the W&L Carnival at Wilson Field.
