INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced its field for the 2018 Division III Men's Tennis Tournament, which will begin on Friday, May 11.
Washington and Lee (12-6) will travel to Atlanta, Ga., where it will compete in the first three rounds at Emory University. The Generals will face Thomas More (13-3) in the first round on Friday. The winner of the match will take on host Emory (16-4) in the second round on Saturday, May 12. The third round will be contested on Sunday, May 13.
Sewanee (21-5) and North Carolina Wesleyan (18-3) are the other teams at the site that will receive a first-round bye and meet in the second round.
Start times for all of the weekend's matches are all to be determined.
Washington and Lee and Thomas More have never met in the NCAA Championship. The Saints received an automatic bid by winning the Presidents Athletic Conference title. W&L received an automatic bid to the tournament after claiming the ODAC Championship on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the title match.
