Shamshiri and Holt Fall in NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Washington and Lee doubles tandem of junior Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas / ATA College Prep) and sophomore Michael Holt (Henrico, Va. / Mills Godwin) fell in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship on Friday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The second-seeded duo of Jeremy Bush and Ross Putterman of Washington University of St. Louis defeated the Generals' team by a score of 6-3, 6-4.

Shamshiri and Holt finished the 2013-14 season with a 24-5 overall record.  After just two seasons together, they have already notched a 50-11 record together that ranks third in school history for career wins by a doubles team.  Bobby Matthews and David McLeod hold the record with 59 career victories.

With Shamshiri and Holt's loss in the doubles competition, the Generals have now completed their 2013-14 campaign.
