LEXINGTON, Va. – Four different players scored to help the ninth-ranked Washington and Lee men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Capital on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
Junior midfielder Dylan Ritch (Mint Hill, N.C. / Independence) gave the Generals (5-0-1) all the scoring they would need early on when he scored off of a penalty kick in the 13th minute. W&L took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The lead grew to 2-0 at the 70:24 mark of the second half when senior midfielder Kevin Molnar (Mendham, N.J. / Delbarton School) headed the ball into the back of the net off of a corner kick from junior midfielder Kevin Lencioni (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams).
Senior Ted Hurst (Holmes Beach, Fla. / Rochester Adams) scored W&L's third goal at the 80:46 mark after receiving a cross from senior forward Reeves Duggan (Birmingham, Ala. / Indian Springs School). First-year midfielder Danny Tran (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) tallied the final goal of the contest at 86:35.
For the game, W&L took 25 shots as opposed to the Crusaders' (4-2) seven, and held a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
