LEXINGTON, Va. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association (USILA) has announced that Washington and Lee sophomore goalkeeper Jack Taylor (Baltimore, Md. / St. Paul's) has been named to the Division III Team of the Week for the week ending March 10.
Taylor was selected to the 10-person squad after helping lead the Generals to a 2-0 week with wins over Mary Washington and Randolph-Macon. For the week, he recorded 23 saves with just seven goals allowed in 92:13, posting a .767 save percentage.
In a 22-3 win over the Eagles, Taylor played the first 38:56, totaling six saves with just two goals allowed. He followed that performance with a career-best 17 saves and five goals allowed, while playing the first 53:17 in a 14-6 win over Randolph-Macon.
For the season, Taylor has started all seven of the team's games, recording a .591 save percentage and an 8.57 goals-against average in 392:13.
Washington and Lee is 4-3 overall (1-0 ODAC) and is currently ranked 16th in the USILA Division III poll. The Generals travel to 11th-ranked Gettysburg for a 3:30 pm contest on Wednesday.
