W&L Men's Golf Finishes in a Tie for 12th at the Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee men's golf team finished in a tie for 12th-place out of 30 teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational held at the Pine Lakes Golf Club and Oleander Golf Club.

W&L carded a three-day score of 292-294-298—884 (+20) against one of the strongest fields of any Division III Tournament this year.  Fifth-ranked Methodist topped the field with a -11 score of 293-282-278—853. 

Guilford's James Mishoe finished as the individual medalist with a -10 score of 67-70-69—206.  W&L sophomore Brian Peccie (Norfolk, Va. / Norfolk Academy) was among 13 players who finished under par for the tournament, shooting a 69-74-72—215 (-1) to tie for 13th.

Sophomore Robert Quinilty (Cypress, Texas / Houston Christian) tied for 41st out of 150 golfers with a 71-76-75—222 (+6), while senior Luke Farley (Durham, N.C. / Trinity School) placed in a tie for 47th with a 78-71-74—223 (+7).

Sophomore Sean Puleo (Albany, N.Y. / Albany Academy) tied for 54th with a 74-73-77—224 (+8) and senior Andrew Barth (Bethesda, Md. / Walt Whitman) finished 147th with an 82-91-84—257 (+41).

Washington and Lee will return to action on April 1-2 at the Hershey Cup held at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
