LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason volleyball coaches' poll was released Thursday afternoon, with Washington and Lee tabbed to win its third straight ODAC title.

The Generals garnered 11 first-place votes and one second-place vote to lead the poll, while Bridgewater took the second-place spot and Lynchburg took third.

Washington and Lee returns to action having raised the program win record for two straight seasons. The Generals, who return all but one starter, concluded the 2002 campaign with a 32-8 overall record and a 10-0 mark in the ODAC. W&L won the ODAC crown for the second straight year and sixth time in the last eight seasons. The Generals also advanced to the NCAA South Region Semifinals for the second time in program history.

Washington and Lee begins the 2003 season on Friday, September 12 when the Generals square off against Averett in the opening round of the W&L Invitational. Match time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
