FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced that Washington and Lee sophomore midfielders Dani Murray (Denver, Colo. / Kent Denver) and Jack Hodgson (Richmond, Va. / St. Christopher’s) have been named the ODAC Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for the week ending March 25.
Murray was named the ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after helping the women’s lacrosse team to a 2-0 record last week.
She tallied a career-high six points on three goals and a career-best three assists in an 11-8 victory over then 10th-ranked Tufts. She also won four draw controls in the win. Murray followed that up with three goals and three draw controls in a 17-2 triumph over Virginia Wesleyan. It marked her third straight hat trick and fourth this season.
For the season, she ranks second on the team with 19 points and 15 goals. She has also won a team-best 19 draw controls.
Hodgson played a vital role in W&L's 11-10 comeback win over 10th-ranked Roanoke on Saturday by winning 20-of-25 faceoffs for the day.
He allowed the Generals to continually maintain possession following scores and won nine of the 11 faceoffs after halftime, including all five in the fourth quarter. Hodgson picked up 13 ground balls as well.
For the year, Hodgson has won 134-of-212 (.632) faceoffs and has tallied six points on four goals and two assists.
The 11th-ranked W&L women’s lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Shenandoah at 4:00 pm. The 16th-ranked men’s lacrosse team will play again on Friday when it hosts Hampden-Sydney for a 7:00 pm contest.
