FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its 2018-19 All-Academic Team recently and Washington and Lee once again led the league in number of athletes honored.
The Generals totaled 373 of the conference-record 2,094 All-Academic Team members named from the 16 member institutions. Next on the list was Shenandoah with 231 and Randolph-Macon with 211.
Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. He or she must achieve at least a 3.25 grade-point average for the year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Award.
Among W&L's 373 honorees were 58 First Team All-ODAC selections from throughout the 2018-19 year. In addition, eight of W&L's 10 ODAC Player of the Year awardees were among those on the All-Academic list, while 13 of the school's 17 All-Americans were honored.
The Blue and White compiled a 204-101-4 (.676) overall record during the 2018-19 school year, claiming a league-record 13 ODAC Championships (men's cross country, women's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's swimming, women's swimming, men's tennis and women's tennis, men's indoor track & field, volleyball).
Additionally, the Generals claimed the ODAC's Dan Wooldridge Overall Champions Cup for the 17th straight year.
