    W&L Women's Cross Country Garners USTFCCCA All-Academic Laurels The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced is All-Academic Teams and individual All-Academic honorees on Thursday and the Washington and Lee women received the team award and had four athletes recognized.

    Numerous W&L Students Earn Fall Scholar-Athlete Awards Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 242 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The prior record for scholar-athletes in the fall or winter term was 224 set during the fall of 2014.

    W&L Women's XC Takes Fourth at NCAA Regional & Yates Qualifies for Nationals The Washington and Lee women’s cross country team finished fourth out of 27 schools at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championship on Saturday hosted by Berry College. Sophomore Samantha Yates (Birmingham, Ala./St. Paul's School) was the top individual for the Generals, finishing ninth out of the 213 competitors to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championship.

    Yates & Peterson Garner ODAC Athlete of the Week Honors The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its Athletes of the Week on Monday for the week ending October 9, and Washington and Lee senior midfielder Kendall Peterson (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) was named the Field Hockey Player of the Week, while sophomore Samantha Yates (Birmingham, Ala./St. Paul's School) earned the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honor.

    W&L Women's Cross Country Takes Top Spot in ODAC Preseason Poll The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its 2016 women’s cross country preseason coaches’ poll on Friday, and defending league champion Washington and Lee took the top spot out of 12 teams. The Generals received 11 of the 12 available first-place votes and 121 total points.
