W&L Women's Cross Country Captures ODAC Crown
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Washington and women's cross country team placed all five of its scoring runners in the Top 15 in winning the ODAC Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Randolph College on Saturday afternoon.
First-year Rebecca Bryer (Chester, Pa./Unionville) was W&L's top finisher as she took third overall in a time of 23:25. With the third-place finish she earned First Team All- ODAC and ODAC Rookie of the Year honors.
Sophomore Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) took fifth place overall with a time of 23:38 and also earned First Team All-ODAC honors, the second time in as many years she has earned first team all-conference honors.
W&L had a pair of Second Team All-ODAC honorees as first-year Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb./Norris) finished in 11th place (24:18) and senior Katherine Fenwick (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) took 12th place (24:22).
Sophomore Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan) narrowly missed postseason accolades with a 15th-place finish in a time of 24:39.
W&L Head Coach Kris Hoey also earned ODAC Coach of the Year accolades.
The Generals return to action on Saturday, November 13, when they take part in the NCAA South/Southeast Region at Rhodes College. Race time is set for 12:00 pm.
