W&L Women's XC Finishes Fourth at Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Washington and Lee's women's cross country team took part in the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday afternoon and took fourth place out of 25 teams.

First-year Rebecca Bryer (Chester, Pa./Unionville), running in her first collegiate race, was the Generals' top-finisher as she took 16th overall with a time of 24:04. Finishing just behind Bryer was sophomore Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton), who took 17th place in 24:07.
 
First-year Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb./Norris) finished in 24:39, good for 38th place and senior Katherine Fenwick (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) took 47th place with a time of 24:55.
 
W&L's final scorer was first-year Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan), who took 62nd place with a time of 25:12.
 
The Generals return to action on Oct. 30, when they will take part in the ODAC Championships at Randolph College.
