CARLISLE, Pa. – The Washington and Lee women's cross country team took part in the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
In an event that combines a 6k race and a 4k race, the Generals were led by sophomore Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton), who finished in 14th place in the 6k with a time of 24:08.
Also running in the 6k for the Generals were first-year Ashley Gerard (Savannah, Ga./Savannah Country Day), who finished in 68th place with a time of 26:09, sophomore Louisa Phillips (Charleston, S.C./Ashley Hall), who took 75th place with a time of 26:46 and first-year Brandie Huffman (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) and sophomore Teresa Soley (Lebanon, N.J./Mother of Divine Grace) who took 82nd and 83rd place with times of 26:56 and 26:59, respectively.
In the 4k race, first-year Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb./Norris) finished with a time of 15:55 to earn 38th place, while first-year Bella Zuroski (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) took 60th place with a time of 16:20 and sophomore Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan) recorded a time of 16:35, good for 72nd overall.
Team scores from the combined races were not immediately available.
The Generals return to action on October 1, when they take part in the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.
