W&L Women's Cross Country Finishes in Top 10 at Gettysburg Invite
GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Senior Kat Telfeyan (Chesapeake, Va./Great
Bridge) finished in the Top 10 and the Washington and Lee
women’s cross country team finished in ninth place out of 28
teams at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
Telfeyan recorded a 10th-place finish with a time of 24:24.43 over
the 6k course to lead the Generals.
First-year Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan) notched a
43rd-place finish (25:448.85) and senior Sarah Keckler (Gardners,
Pa./Home Schooled) also placed in the Top 50, finishing 47th in
25:50.01.
Senior Dorothy Todd (Watkinsville, Ga./Athens Academy) took 62nd
place (26:08.41) and first-year Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton,
Mass./Hopkinton) rounded out the scorers for W&L with a time of
26:12.53, good for 67th place.
The Generals finished with 217 team points. Shippensburg
University won the event with a team total of 72 points.
W&L returns to action on October 31, when it takes part in the ODAC Championships hosted by Roanoke College. The Championship meet is slated to begin at 11:00 am.
