W&L Women's Cross Country Wins Maroon Invitational
SALEM, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women’s cross country team placed five runners in the Top 15 on its way to winning the Maroon Invitational with 39 points on Saturday morning at Mowels Spring Park.
Senior Kat Telfeyan (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) was the race winner in 24:38.44, with first-year Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) finishing in second place with a mark of 24:56.16.
Senior Sarah Keckler (Gardners, Pa./Home Schooled) finished in ninth place (25:55.71) and first-year Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan) and senior Dorothy Todd (Watkinsville, Ga./Athens Academy) rounded out the W&L finishers with 12th and 15th-place finishes, respectively, with times of 26:09.01 and 26:35.82.
W&L’s women’s cross country team returns to action on Saturday when it competes in the Royals Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.
