LEXINGTON, Va. — Senior outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) totaled 16 kills en route to a 3-0 victory for the Washington and Lee volleyball team over William Peace on Saturday at the Warner Center.
The Generals (14-10) made quick work of the Pacers (17-9) in the 25-20, 25-16, 25-14 win. W&L hit .326 as a team, while holding William Peace to .043. The Blue and White recorded 20 kills on 89 attempts with 11 errors, while WPU had 25 kills on 93 attempts with 21 errors.
Lausberg hit .353 with 16 kills on 34 attempts and four errors. She also added six digs. First-year outside hitter Meg Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) had six kills and a match-high 13 digs.
Junior middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) notched nine kills and three blocks, and sophomore setter Elena West (Roanoke, Va./Northside) tallied 30 assists, five digs and three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) had 10 digs, which marked the 17th straight contest she's had at least 10 digs. She's only had one match this season where she failed to record double-digit digs.
Junior outside hitter Laura Bland (Wilson, N.C./Fike) led the Pacers with eight kills, and junior setter Liana Solomon (Hurdle Mills, N.C./Person) posted 17 assists.
The Generals next compete at Guilford on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
