ATLANTA, Ga. — Playing against the defending national champions and the third-ranked team in the country, the Washington and Lee volleyball team lost to Wittenberg, 3-0, in the first match of the Emory National Invitational.
The Tigers (20-4) ended the Generals' (22-8) eight-match winning streak in the 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 victory.
Junior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the Generals with 12 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) tallied three blocks and eight assists.
For the back row, first-year outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) had 11 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) totaled 10.
The Generals played UMass-Boston later on Friday.
