MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In its first match at the Rhodes Fall Break Classic, the Washington and Lee volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Rust.
The Generals (16-7) held the Bearcats under 15 in all three sets in the 25-11, 25-9, 25-14 victory.
First-year outside hitter Mansie Hough (St. Petersburg, Fla./Canterbury School) led W&L with 10 kills. Along with Hough, first-year defensive specialist Kasey Cannon (North Wales, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) totaled eight kills and first-year outside hitter Christina Kamis (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) added seven. First-year setter Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside) distributed the ball with 34 assists.
For the defense, Hough and sophomore libero Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) led the team with seven digs.
The Generals played Rhodes later on Friday.
