W&L Volleyball Tops Messiah, 3-1
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team bested Messiah on Saturday, 3-1, in its third match at the Gullaudet Volleyball Worthington Classic.
The 25-18, 21-25, 25-22, 25-15 victory improved the Generals to 13-6 on the year, while Falcons dropped to 10-7.
Junior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the team with a double-double. She had 17 kills and 10 digs. She also added three aces. Also big for the Generals' offense was first-year outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) and senior right side Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./The Bishop's School). Lausberg tallied 11 kills and Maxey had nine.
For the defense, sophomore libero Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) led the squad with 15 digs, and junior setter Megh Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) added 11.
The Generals played Trine later on Saturday.
