WASHINGTON, D.C. — In its second match at the Gallaudet Volleyball Worthington Classic, the Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Shenandoah, 3-1.
The 25-20, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21 victory ended a two-match losing streak for the Generals (12-6, 5-1 ODAC), while the Hornets (8-6) lost for the fifth time in their last six matches.
Junior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the team with 16 kills and 13 digs. First-year setter Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside) had a double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs.
The two teams will play later in the year on October 9 in Lexington. The Generals play two more matches at the Classic on Saturday with their first against Messiah at 12:00 pm.
