Generals Sweep UMW, 3-0, in Volleyball Action

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team won its fourth match in a row with a 3-0 win over Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon in a match played at the Jane P. Batten Center on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan.

After a hard-fought 27-25 victory in the first set, W&L (17-2, 6-0 ODAC) cruised by the Eagles 25-13, 25-18 to notch the win.

Senior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) followed up her 10-block performance in W&L's 3-0 win over VWC with a season-best-tying 13 kills against UMW. She also had six blocks. Senior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) added eight kills and sophomore outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) added six kills. 

Junior libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) led the defense with 14 digs and Boles added nine digs and a pair of service aces. Sophomore setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) posted 28 assists.

W&L returns to the court on Wednesday when it travels to Emory & Henry for a 7:00 pm match.
