W&L Volleyball Defeats John Carroll, 3-2

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Washington and Lee volleyball team wrapped up play in the Pioneer Classic at Marietta on Saturday with a 25-16, 25-9, 23-25, 22-25, 15-11 win over John Carroll on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the Generals (14-2) with 17 kills, 20 digs and three blocks.  Senior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) contributed 16 kills, while senior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) tallied 13 kills and five blocks.

Junior middle blocker Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./The Bishop's School) chipped in nine kills, and first-year defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) recorded six service aces and 17 digs.  Sophomore setter Megan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) added 48 assists, 10 digs and two blocks.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Eastern Mennonite for a 6:30 pm contest.
