MARIETTA, Ohio – The Washington and Lee volleyball team dropped a 25-16, 25-21, 25-16 decision to home-standing Marietta in the Pioneer Classic on Saturday morning.
The Generals (13-2), who fell for the second time in as many days, were led by junior middle blocker Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./The Bishop's School), who notched eight kills. Sophomore outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) tallied six kills and 13 digs, while senior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) had five kills.
First-year setter Corinne Hemmersbach (Torrance, Calif./Chadwick) totaled 10 digs, seven assists and two service aces, and sophomore setter Megan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) added 15 assists.
The Generals returned to action again on Saturday as they took on John Carroll in their final outing in the Pioneer Classic.
