W&L Places Three Players on VaSID All-State Volleyball Teams

DANVILLE, Va. -- Washington and Lee first-year volleyball player M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) was among three Generals honored by the Virginia Sports Information Directors recently.

An outside hitter, Boles was tabbed as the VaSID College Division All-State Rookie of the Year and was also named to the All-State First Team. Junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay) and sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) were both named to the second team.
Boles led the Generals to a 28-7 overall record and W&L advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She led the ODAC with 424 kills, the sixth-highest season total in school history, and finished fourth in the league with 49 service aces. Boles also ranked among the league leaders with a .221 hitting percentage and 343 digs, while adding 42 blocks and 23 assists.
Having previously earned First Team All-ODAC honors, as well as ODAC Rookie of the Year, AVCA South Region Rookie of the Year and Honorable Mention All-Region accolades, Boles is the first General to earn VaSID Rookie of the Year honors.
Dee, a First Team All-ODAC honoree, earned VaSID Second Team All-State laurels after leading W&L and placing second in the ODAC with 125 total blocks, including 32 solo efforts. The 125 blocks are the second-most in a season in school history. She also added 251 kills, 60 digs and 18 service aces in 124 sets played.
Hill was named to the Second Team All-State squad after leading the ODAC with 540 digs - the second-highest season total at W&L. A first team all-conference selection, she also added 45 service aces and 22 assists in a league-high 126 sets played. Over her first two seasons, she has already recorded 1,042 digs and is currently ranked eighth all-time in digs at Washington and Lee.
