W&L Volleyball Falls, 3-1, to Emory in NCAA Second Round

ATLANTA, Ga. – The fourth-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team fell, 3-1, to No. 1 seed Emory University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Saturday evening at the Woodruff PE Center.

The Eagles, also ranked No. 1 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, defeated the Generals 25-17, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17.

Sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) paced the W&L defense with a match-high 24 digs. Senior defensive specialist Jenna Finger (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) added nine digs and a pair of service aces.
First-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the Generals with 15 kills and chipped in 10 digs, while junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) posted 10 kills and four blocks.
First-year setter Nikki DelZenero (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) recorded 19 assists and 12 digs and first-year setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) added 13 assists.
At the conclusion of play, Boles was named to the Emory Regional All-Tournament Team.
With the loss, the Generals conclude their season with an overall record of 28-7, while the Eagles (33-4) advance to Sunday's Regional Final where they will take on Cal Lutheran at 4:00 pm.
