W&L Volleyball Falls to RMC, 3-2, in ODAC Finals

ROANOKE, Va. – Second-seeded Randolph-Macon upset the top-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team, 3-2, in the championship match of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Gymnasium on the campus of Hollins University.

The Yellow Jackets (25-7) claimed their second-consecutive ODAC Championship with the 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 26-24, 15-10 win over W&L (27-6).
Sophomore libero Cameron Hill led W&L with a career-high 31 digs and first-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) added 19 digs and a match-high 20 kills.
Senior defensive specialist Jenna Finger (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) added 13 digs and a pair of service aces.
Junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) added 12 kills for the Generals and junior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) had 11. Dee also had four blocks.
First-year setters Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) and Nikki DelZenero (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) accumulated 27 and 20 assists, respectively.
After the match, Boles and Daily were named to the All-Tournament Team.
With the loss, W&L must now wait to see if it will earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA will select the 63-team field on Sunday night with the selection show to air at 11:00 am on Monday morning. The selection show can be viewed at www.ncaa.com.
