W&L Volleyball Tames Cougars, 3-0

SALEM, Va. – The Washington and Lee volleyball team avenged an early-season loss to Averett University with a 3-0 sweep over the Cougars on Saturday afternoon at the Homer C. Bast Center at Roanoke College.

W&L (18-4) downed the Cougars (18-9) 25-23, 25-11, 25-16.
First-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led a balanced offensive attack with 14 kills. Senior middle blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) added eight kills while hitting at a .500 clip.
Junior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) posted six kills and junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) and sophomore right side Bailey Walker (Centennial, Colo./Regis Jesuit) chipped in five kills apiece.
First-year setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) had 28 assists and nine digs and sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) led the way with 15 digs.
W&L returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Emory & Henry at 7:00 pm.
