W&L Downs Haverford, 3-1, in Volleyball

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team closed out play on day one of the CNU Invitational with a 3-1 victory over Haverford on Friday evening.

W&L improved to 14-3 on the season with a 23-25, 27-25, 25-17, 25-16 victory over the Fords to drop them to 9-11 on the season.
Senior middle blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) led the Generals with 16 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) added nine kills as did first-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's).
First-year setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) totaled 32 assists to go with 12 digs, while sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) posted a team-high 15 digs and Boles contributed 10 digs and three service aces.
The Generals return to action on Saturday when they take on Wis.-Oshkosh on day two of the CNU Invitational at 11:00 am.
