W&L Volleyball Rallies Past Frostburg St., 3-2

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Led by junior outside hitter Megan Daily's (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) 19 kills, the Washington and Lee volleyball team erased a 2-0 deficit and defeated Frostburg State, 3-2, to secure the championship at the  Bridgewater Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Nininger Hall.

The Generals fell behind 2-0 after dropping the first two sets, 25-21, 25-22, before winning the final three, 25-20, 25-18, 15-7 to win their sixth-straight match and improve to 7-1 on the season. For the Bobcats, it was their first loss of the season and dropped them to 13-1.
In addition to Daily's 19 kills, sophomore right side Bailey Walker (Centennial, Colo./Regis Jesuit) contributed 13 kills and three blocks in being named to the All-Tournament team and first-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) totaled 11 kills to go with 20 digs to earn Most Valuable Player honors. For Boles, it marked the second tournament in a row that she has earned MVP accolades.
First-year setter Nikki DelZenero (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) paced W&L with a career-high 49 assists, while also adding 16 digs and a pair of service aces and senior middle blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) totaled 10 kills and five service aces.
The Generals return to the court on Tuesday when they host defending ODAC champion Randolph-Macon at 7:00 pm.
