The Generals continue play in the Bridgewater Invitational when they take on Philadelphia Biblical on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
W&L Volleyball Grounds Bridgewater, 3-0
BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Washington and Lee volleyball team won its fourth-straight match with a 3-0 sweep of Bridgewater College on day one of the Bridgewater Invitational Friday night at Nininger Hall.
W&L blanked the Eagles (6-7), 25-19, 25-16, 25-9 to improve
to 5-1 on the season.
First-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's)
led the W&L offense with 11 kills and a pair of service aces
while also adding eight digs. Junior outside hitter Megan Daily
(Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) added eight kills and sophomore
right side Bailey Walker (Centennial, Colo./Regis Jesuit) chipped
in six kills while hitting .500 for the match.
Sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) led the
defense with a team-high 18 digs and first-year setters Nikki DelZenero (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Meghan Meleski
(Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) split time running the offense.
DelZenero recorded 19 assists in two sets, while Meleski chipped in
10 assists in the final set.
